HI All,
I have a friend who asked if I could offer advice on using AdWords, but I've never used it to be honest so I thought I'd ask here just in case someone could offer advice.
He did say to me that :
I hope the thread serves useful for any others in the same position.
Cheers

I have a friend who asked if I could offer advice on using AdWords, but I've never used it to be honest so I thought I'd ask here just in case someone could offer advice.
He did say to me that :
I've basically set around 10 main keywords, of two words each; the list has increased over the month to around 45 keywords, as an experiment, and some prove to be quite popular, but its not easy to see how this relates to clicks and calls/work. I have some keywords that are three such as bat survey lanarkshire, based on theory and how my clients found me by searching. i delete some keywords once in a while and add some others that occur to me. I also search for things clients might want see who is using them already in their cempaigns and then maybe give them a go myself. Bat Survey is currently up to £7-9. It runs just during weekdays. I need to spend some time doing more analysis, but its rather dull.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I hope the thread serves useful for any others in the same position.
Cheers
Andy

Andy,
Using adwords effectively is a whole forums worth but the basics are use wordtracker.com to find keywords and phrases relevant to your business. Set a low daily allowance and test adds - once you've got one converting at a good price then up your daily spend. Sorry no real shortcut with adwords.0 -
Hi Andy,
I've been looking at the same thing - Google have a load of brilliant videos on YouTube explaining how to run reports & configure tests to see how different keywords generate traffic & when etc. Have your friend check these out:

Good luck!

Hi i am just starting out with adwords, i have a monthly budget set at £30. I am trying out loads of different words, i have about 400 listed to see what works best- but i am not getting many impressions. Should i increase/derease the keywords i have, does this impact my campaign?
I am not worried about conversions just yet, i am just testing the water.
Any advice will be greatfully received0 -
I think it's recommended about 20 keywords for maximum effect. You need to try a few variables.Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08
ANOTHER 4 % June 09:beer:0
