advice on paying mortgage after breakup?

Hi everyone, I dont usually post on here but my friend is in a terrible state.
Last night her partner of 10yrs told her he is leaving and no longer loves her.
They have 2 children one is 4yrs and one is 18mths.They have a mortgage paying £700 per month.
My friend works part time and cannot afford to pay the mortgage on her wages, she is really upset she will have to lose her home.It will take years to get a housing association home and private rental is similar prices to her mortgage.
Do you think her partner can be made to contribute towards the mortgage, she could increase her hours at work but would then have to pay out for a nursery.Apart from csa payments is her partner liable to pay towards the home for their children, he earns about £1700 a month.
I just dont know what to tell her to make her feel better. She is lovely and doesnt deserve this.

He will only be responsible for the CSA payments.

She may be entitled to keep the house until the children reach 18 but she would need to meet the mortgage payments. A judge will ensure both have a home so if he claims he cannot pay 2 mortgages he wont be made too.

Spousal maintenance is rare and wont apply as she is working anyway so has earning capacity.

Perhaps she can agree a contribution to the mortgage rather than child maintenance.
