Hello, can anyone help. I am trying to run office enterprise office 2007 and the spell checker does not seem to work, the jagged line under incorrectly spelt words comes up ok, but when you try to select the correct word it will not highlight and therefore the word cannot be replaced. All the correction suggestions are greyed out and cannot be selected. I am not sure why this is occuring can anyone help me?
thanks

Your Normal.docx may be causing the problem. Try this...
In a blank document in Word 2007, on the Review ribbon, in the Proofing group, click the Set Language button. In the dialog, I think you'll find that the "Do not check spelling or grammar" box is checked. Uncheck it, and then click the Default button to apply the setting to the Normal template. Click Yes in the message that asks whether to change the default, and click OK
to close the Language dialog.

hi I'm using vista,
when i bought you had to say the operating system it was for0 -
what about in the proofing menu in the autocorrect options tick the 'automatically use suggestions from the spell checker?. Can i just ask is this the full version of the software or a trial?0

hi thanks scottishf
i have looked it was ticked.
it is a full version i got it 2 months ago i work for nhs got it reduced price it is home use program it all very confusing i need the spell checker0 -
Under the old version it was Tools/Language - check that it's set to UK
highlight all the document CtrlA and either rightmouse click or find tools/options - choose UK
go to control panel, find programs (add?) dig and find Office then click Repair (put the CD back in)
sorry to be so vague but have moved to mac now and open source - not, I have to say, without its limitations
best of luckI am not a financial advisor. Anything I post is basically just random stuff from my head. Digest it as you will. Being free of debt is good. Banks control us through debt. Caveat Emptor. Ignore anything I say. Oh and don't copy it either. Cheers. I'll have a Guinness extra cold.0 -
thanks for trying did as you suggested bdon no luck I'm afraid0

Does double clicking the word (thus highlighting it) and then right clicking it work?0
