Money saving business idea

Has anyone done 'money saving maveovers' for other people? I went through my mum's finances and found the best deals for car and house insurance, phone, broadband, TV, gas/electric etc. All the bits in Martin's money makeovers. I then did some bts for my dad and his partner and my sister.
I was wondering now about doing it for other people, and beig paid to do it. I would only be doing the same searches they could do and using Martin's step by step guides, but I know alot of people either feel they don't have the time or they don't like computers or whatever.
I have enjoyed doing it for family and for myself and would like to do it for other people, but can't just give my time for free (I am a stay at home mum toa 3 year old and a one year old).
Any ideas where this might come in terms of FSA regulations on financial advice. Has anyone else done this as a business?
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Funny you should say this, i've been thinking the same thing recently.
I too have done it for my folks, and family. I own 2 small businesses and have put up money saving guides on the notice boards. I have started to save money for my employees as well.
You could set up a little side line saving people money, but not sure how many would be willing to pay. Plus you would need to be careful not to be confused with giving financial advice.

I do this all the time. I'm in the middle of a major one right now - it's a case of cut back or lose the house
I don't take any money for it - it's a damn cheek to even think about charging  Specially when all your info has come from here FOR FREE.
I met a man who does the exact same thing but for businesses. He does all the research then shows the company boss. If they like what he's done, he changes suppliers etc. for them, the company doesn't have to do anything. Then they pay him a % of the savings. If they decide not to change anything, he gets nothing (but this rarely happens). I'm looking into this for myself.
I would charge for businesses, but personal finances - NO WAY.I am a coffee bean0 -
Yeah, I agree. Charging a percentage for businesses is a really good idea.
How about addingt to this by writing a booklet of everything done, so that businesses can pass it on to their employees. It saves the business money and it makes the boss look good as he is trying to save his employees money for free.0 -
Charge a % of the money saved.0
