Edinburgh to London

Hiya, just wondering if anyone can tell me what the cheapest way for me and my friend is to travel from Edinburgh to London Kings Cross.
av looked at some quotes and the cheapest so far is £105 each. Surley there must be cheaper than that, it just seems so much!
we are leaving on 5th August and staying for two nights, am wondering if spliting the journey up would be cheaper but av never trid this before.
We could leave from other stations to, either North Berwick or Dunbar but these options don't seem to be any cheaper either!
if anyone knows of the top of there heads it would be much appreciated, cheers the now K.

You can get Advance Single tickets for £45.50 each way on those dates. There's even a £36.50 fare on one train.
If you are eligible for a railcard then get one and save a third.
It may well be worth splitting. Try it.
