    Presumably its not time, its distance. If you are parked front out you just drive off in the direction you want to go. If you have to reverse out you have to go out of the parking bay and away from that direction before driving off, adding a few yards to your journey (several if you have to shunt backwards and forwards to complete the manouevre). They are saying you will use less fuel doing this with a hot engine before you park than with a cold engine when you leave.
    No reliance should be placed on the above.
