Hi All,
Please can you help, I have completed all of the forms to go bankrupt, I need to know the fee as I keep seeing conflicting information on the cost and also what do I do with my current bank account? I am hoping to go to the courts on Monday with the forms and the fees, but my wages get paid into my account on Friday the 25th is it best for me to get this money transferred into one of my parents bank accounts? so the bank cannot use this money against my OD which is 1500? as the account will be frozen wont it as soon as I become BR?
Just really need some advice on that please
Thanks in advance

I wouldn't put the money in a parents account you don't want the OR looking in to their account (only very slight risk but there) I'd draw it out and pay it in to a new account opened after the BR hearing coop and barclays are ok at leeting Bankrupts have accounts. You can open it as soon as you leave court the cards won't come for a bit but they'll give you a sortcode and account no so can use it straight away0

Sorry you asked about the cost £345 OR deposit £150 court fee (this is £12 more at High court in London) Some people can get a remission of the £150 depending on their circumstances0

Hi
I am still waiting for my BR court to give ma a date. Booking for September this week.
I opened a Co Op Cashminder account and it took 7 days to get up running incl net banking. I told them I was going BR and they were great.
From what I understand if you have'nt used the account. The OR will have no interest in it. So I'm moving my Child tax credits into Co Op from Barclays after court.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !

The OR can't look at anyone elses account because of data protection.Putting your wages into a trusted persons account is a recommended metthod. Then on the day you go BR open a cashminder account.
Does your court offer a drop in service Claire? If so then you will be fine, if not you need to make an appointment.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Before i went bc i had a joint bank account where my wages were paid into. I took my name off a couple of days before i went to court. I put the acc down on the SOA and told the OR about it. It was not touched and i still have my wages paid in 7 mts later. I only got around to opening a co-op account 2 wks ago. Putting it into your parents account will be fine.DFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Tigerfeet you are right and i did the same thing. I was going down the IVA route before getting better advice and going BR but they said to move any money i had into another account and then get another account. I moved it into my partners and i just explained to the OR what i did and he just said that fine i can account for that then and that was it. Of course i have a spanking brand new Co-op cashminder account although not much in it

How do you suppose the OR finds sums of money people are deliberately hiding from them? Of course the OR isn't interested in the money people need for everyday living, but the Insolvency act 1986 provides plenty of scope for the OR to get court orders to investigate third parties. Of course this isn't the norm but in the sense of giving the fullest of responses it is possible and indeed i've been in court when such an order has been granted.0

Yes you are right and it is possible but very unlikely and if a person is upfront then they will not have problems.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

exactly just be up front. If of course you move £40,000 pounds then of course they should look into it but they are not going to get a court order for the couple of thousand unless they think fraud has been committed.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

I'm named on my daughters cash builder account with Nationwide. Simply because they would'nt give her a cash card until 15yrs old if only her on account. My Cab advisor said the OR may ask her about it. CAB advisor told me to remove my name now she old enough. Also said the OR may write to my partner about what will soon be our old joint account now just his. But unlikely to ask for all statements unless they think somethings a miss.BSC No: 186 There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Unless someone's nicked the candle !
