First Time Campers - Any Advice

Ok so have decided we are going to go camping for 2 nights 1st and 2nd august at star camp site near alton towers, we have a tent and sleeping bags but i am pretty clueless as what i am going to need to take any help on essentials would be gratefully appreciated

If you are only going for a couple of days then you wont need to much if it was for a week or so then you would need some advice, top tips i suppose are a blanket under you is worth 5 on top, cos the ground will suck the heat out of you worse than your heat naturally leeching out of you, oooh also if you're cold in bed take a hat as you loose poop loads of heat through your head.
I always prefer cooking on meths based cooking stoves as opposed to gas, however again given that you are going for a couple of days its probably worth getting the basic cooking kit, ie gas.
