Weed killer on bricks

Hello

My father in law decided to spay the weeds coming through the bricked drive with weed killer

Now the bricks look as if they have been stained, it looks like bird poo. Is there anyway he can remove it, and while I've asked the question does anyone know how to get rid of the weeds from a briked drive?

Thanks

  • I have used Glyphosate (Roundup) in the past. It doesn't appear to stain our block paving at all and gets rid of everything (although the weeds turn brown and die leaving a bit of a mess).

Not sure about cleaning up the mess your father in law has made apart from water and a stiff brush and elbow grease or perhaps trying a power washer.

My front 'garden' is now block paved and I have used weed killer on the lil weeds that pop up. However this does leave white marks on the bricks but it seems to wash away when it rains so no worries. Whilst I was spraying them one day my neighbour came out and said "no need for weed killer, just use boiling water on them and that'll kill em!" Haven't tried it yet and I'm not sure if I want to crouch round the bricks with a boiling hot kettle (as standing up would produce quite a splash!) but you could try it if you don't mind crouching!! Hope that helps. Jooy x

I know this is an old thread, but I found a great way to clean block paving - local guy in my village came up with the idea of the brush: http://www.crowsons.co.uk

definitely recommended, hope this is some help.
