Can I turn off my electric shower pump?

Hi I have just installed an oxygenics water shower head, and the new water pressure is sufficient for use with the electric water pump on, what I wish to know is can I just turn off my electric water pump off in the loft for the long term? I have turn it off from the mains so the pump does not go on now but just wanted to know if I get a plumber in to remove it completely? BTW is a Standler Diamond twin pump. Thanks in advance

When switched off a shower pump actually restricts the flow of water. So if the water pressure is OK when the pump is switched off then it will be better if the pump is removed.

Is there any side effects of not removing the pump and just leaving it switched off?

It should be fine leaving it switched off long term. It is possible (depends on the age/condition of the pump and the water hardness) that the pump may seize up if not used for many months, but is only a problem if you need to use it again.
