Post Office Credit Card

This morning I have applied for the Post Office Credit card, as I understand usually its an instant decision, however, I was told they are unable to confirm at present if I have been successful or not and will be writing to me within 5 days? Is this like the virgin thing where they make you contact them if you dont select the payment protection, or does it sound like I'm gonna get kicked back?

If its any consolation I applied for an Amex Platinum card last week and also didn't get an instant decision. Yesterday I got a call to say that they had accepted my application and the card would be on its way in a couple of days.
If your credit rating is good then you should stand a good chance. If you are not sure about whats on your file then you should either sign up for a free trial or order paper copies.0 -
I had that message and got a decline letter about a week later, but someone else on the forum had that message and received their card a week later :-pKavanne

When I applied for the card last year, got the message, had to submit extra details but in the end was still turned down. After moving address applied again and was accepted immediately

Off topic (apologies!), but the same happened with my Post Office Instant Saver application. Never heard anything from the PO, but £15 still paid via Quidco.sofa_surfer wrote: »Got the Quidco money on both occasions :T .
