Easyjet baggage policy says "Each passenger is permitted one standard piece of hand baggage to maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm" Does anybody know if a ladies handbag counts as "one piece"? TIA

You could use a plastic bag or cardboard box to put all your hand luggage in as long as it meets the size limit as then it's "one standard piece"0

Answer to my own question. the following is a reply from easyjet
Dear Mr XXX,
Thank you for contacting us.
I can confirm that each passenger can carry one item of hand baggage, with no weight restriction, although you must be able to lift it into the overhead locker unassisted. Your wife's handbag counts as her one piece of hand baggage in this case.Something Really Interesting0 -
I have a larger bag that my handbag fits into at the top. As soon as you are onboard you can have your handbag separate again.

The worst case scenario is that they might ask you to put it into your main hand luggage like jackomdj does, on a recent easyjet flight i took a smallish rucksack as hand luggage and a separate camera bag (which was about the size of a medium handbag) and had no problems at all, they really weren't interested, but i could have put one in the other if i was pushed..... under the other arm i had a car seat as well, i thought the future was traveling light :cool:0

We are flying out from luton soon, can anyone tell me if "55x40x20cm" is checked to the letter as the family don't want to spend extra money on new bags, these are the pull up handle with wheels type. I'll find the sizes later & post them.
Also what happens if you are say 2 kilos over? I can only gauge the suitcase weight by my scales but these are far from perfect. Don't want to get stung on there rip off extra kilo charges.
Thanks in advance.0 -
The size of the bag is for hand/cabin luggage for which there is no weight limit other than that you can lift it unaided into the lockers.Something Really Interesting0

Glad I found this thread. I am going to get my hubby to take the wee ones booster seat for our hire car (saving £36.00) I can still take my hand bag and wee one can take a bag of things to keep her amused. Gr8 :-)Excited for Florida - May 2012 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0
