Won't Switch

Hi

First time posting, sorry if its long!

Scottish Power salesguy signed me up to switch from utilita his offer was good. However Utilita are refusing to switch my gas but my elec got switched fine on 3rd July. I am in arrears with Utilita but these are getting paid every month. If they do not allow you to switch with arrears how come the elec switch went through but not the gas??

Cheers

I had the same problem with Utilita. Although I was not in arrears.

I got letters back from both my new companies stating they had refused, despite me emailing and ringing them up to say I was swapping.

Eventually swapped, but since then they sent a grossly overestimated metering reading and not my customer reading to the new companies. Then when I had fully settled my account had the cheek to send a Final Demand letter two months later for the monies I had already paid.

And I'm still waiting for my bulbs.

They do respond eventually to emails and although they are expensive now, their customer services is better than some.

Utilita also use 12 month contracts, are you still within the 12 month period? and you'll have to pay off your arrears.
