Can you video the freeview channels on a normal VCR if you have a TV with built in freeview?

yes, on most models you choose if you want the TV to output the freeview or analogue channels via the scart sockets on the back of the tv. You then set the video to record from the AV channel the scart is connected to0

You may have to record the channel you're watching though - check the specs of the TV thoroughly first.
Personally, I would just get a TV and set-top box. It will work out at the same cost (or cheaper) and you could record more easily.0 -
