I couldnt even have cared less about us going last night, but to find out that DH couldnt even afford to go and took the money out on his credit card is a bit of a slap in the face in my mind....

Am just really annoyed about the whole money thing at the moment. just feel like he's not helping, wants to do all this decorating in the new house, which yes is lovely and making it very homely etc but its still money to spend that could go on other things.... and I dont know what to say to him to get him on the same wavelength as me....
Things like I've asked for things like hot water bottles and electric blankets for xmas so we dont freeze in the new house and put the heating on all the time, and he just thinks im being a "country bumpkin" but i dont think he comprehends that a 2 bed house will cost a lot more to heat than a one bed flat....

Its just doing my head in at the moment and with my job in the balance (as I earn the bigger salary now), its just one stress after another....

    CAFC it's completely understandable.

Do you think DH has had his LBM? He sounds a bit like my Ex as in he knows you need to clear debt but doesn't really understand what needs to happen if that makes sense.

They have it easy as in we deal with that side of things which makes them a little out of touch of the situation.

oh Bella hun, I really wish I was excited....
Just really underwhelmed by it all really.

I did spend some money, but only about £20 and actually got some xmas presents for next year! LOL
Im on a mission to have it all spread over the year as opposed to trying to do it all in November.

Also decided that I'm going to ignore (well not completely) DH's debts and get paid off what is on my credit cards in my name, not because I'm mean but because I cant worry about what he's doing with his, as well as trying to pay off my own.

    Does that sound really mean?
I know I took his debts on when we got together and I still dont have a problem in working toward clearing those off to make our lives better in the long run, but until he's hit that point when he wants to work toward it as well, I cant see how else to deal with it.
He wont hear me when I talk to him about it, and just says "Its all getting paid though" and yes they are all getting paid, but theyre not getting paid off! And thats whats driving me insane.......

Have been in a really bad mood for most of the day which was hard coz I was out with my mum and didnt want to take it out on her that he's been doing my head in.

I cant wait for a day off where I dont have to do anything apart from play with Gordon all day :)
Just Christmas and moving to get through.......

  • Hi,

I don't think you are mean at all. I have taken on OH's and my debts while he is uni. I transferred his credit card balance on to mine and am happy to pay that off. As he hasn't worked since September I know he has dipped into his credit card a bit. I told him it is his responsibility to pay it off when he gets work again, as well as giving me money towards our other debts. He agreed to this and I haven't a clue what is on his card and it is not being put on my signature. He says he feels way better about it and so do I!

dont feel bad CAFC! my OH is just the same, hes quite happy if we just make min payments and nothing more but I have put my foot down and I am trying to pay that bit extra :)

We have just had some carol singers at the door but i just shut the door on them, I just dont think kids should be knocking on peoples door in this day and age its not safe!! Oh and they make me laugh, then i feel bad!!!!

Any how just try to enjoy christmas CAFC, moneys not the behold and endhold of life, as long as you've got your health and good friends then thats all that counts! :)

Its not the be all and end all when you've got some spare LOL!!!

Oh I dont know, maybe this year has just beaten me down, and I just feel battered and bruised by it, and just not in the situation I thought I would be in at 24.....

Should stop playing on my tiny violin though and just sort a plan out, or something productive so I dont feel so totally vague!
I do need to get myself sorted though, I cant possibly face 2009 with this same general feeling!
