No he..... little Gordon Ramsay wont be joining us till after 4th january as he's too young at the moment, plus we havent moved yet.....
Im really itching to get on and sort our house out, and get the second coats of paint on in the bedroom and the living room and do the stairway painting and start packing....DH not being well though has put the kibosh on that this week though but Im really hoping we can go either tomorrow evening, or if I can get the day off sunday, we can be round there all day. The new fridge/freezer is being delivered there on sunday so be a good day to be round there, getting everything sorted out....
Have no also got a multitude of curtains thanks to Mumma CAFC, so am going to hang some floor length ones over the back door to keep the draught out, and I also need to take some photos of some bits that will need the agents to work on, as there is some plaster coming away in the smaller living room (which we're not planning on using for much) and the bac door has some wet rot on the skirting part, not good but all easily fixable. Theyre things we didnt really notice when we first visited, and be good to get them taken care of now, before we're in there with a puppy and all our belongings.....
Just really want to be doing something productive....... I feel all lazy.... which some days are good, but not on the days where you've actually got some energy to get moving.....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
good day today.
Had to get up at 8am as the delivery of our fridge/freezer at new house was due to be between 8:30am and 12:30....
Got over to the new house only for the delivery people to call and say the unit was damaged and they'll have to get us a new one sent out!!!!
At least they called. new one is due to be delivered on thursday now. They did offer tuesday but neither of us are off.... bit annoying
So managed to get a lot of painting done, including the lobby, the stairwell and some of the woodwork.
Got 2nd coats in the living room and bedroom left to do, but that wont take too long, and we should be able to finish that this week.
Going to try and do some packing this evening, of little bits and pieces that we wont be needing any time soon.
off to dooyoo now to get some reviews done.
Hows everyone else's weekend going?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

CAFC, sounds like you've had a productive day despite a frustrating start :wall:
I've felt a bit fluey all weekend so fairly lazy apart from some Chrimbo shopping. Can't believe its nearly Monday all over again :eek:Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

Its just starting to get there.
Amazingly paintig the walls which needed white, really made a difference. I didnt realise just how dark some bits were looking till we stuck some emulsion on them!
Only downside is I managed to get a strip of paint in my hair, looks like a really retro highlight in my fringe!
Just completed 2 reviews on dooyoo and I am now on 41.3k!!! CMON!
I'm so going to get 50k by the end of this week if it kills me!
Need to organise myself a list for this week of what I need to get done, as all of a sudden I've got a surge of energy and I need to channel it into something.... all down to now having gotten rid of my cold!
Still in the search for more ways to cut down on the heating bills for the new house. Couldnt find the double glazing film in B&Q earlier, but am now considering some filler for in the wooden floor boards, for the draughts....
Am going to work on the list of areas that I stole from Hypno's thread about organising life etc, so might go off and be lazy in the bedroom with a dvd to watch and my pad and pen.
Even though we've not been able to do much with the money aspect this month, I'm feeling pretty positive with doing an overhaul in the new year and kicking our debt's a$$! HOO-RAH!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
hi. glad to hear the house is coming along! Have you set a move in date yet (sorry if you've already said when I haven't managed to catch up on your diary yet).
Heavy curtains and those cushions that go against a closed door (completely forgotten their name) and good for keeping drafts out too
I've lost my debt busting mo-jo. spent more than i should have. :rolleyes:0 -
what did you spend it on?!!!!
Not set a move in date yet..... looks like it'll just be a "as and when" type affair.
Got all the curtains sorted out now.
Draught excluders?! Saw a couple but dont want to spend a fortune. Did see one which was a line of puppies of all sorts, seems quite fun. Its mainly the front door and back doors which are going to let the most in I think. Majority of the windows I wanted to do with the double glazing film till weather picks up.
Plus I want to get a couple of small rugs to put by the sides of our beds. All the flooring is wooden, or laminate and they are pretty darn cold, and nowt worse that cold floors meeting your tootsies first thing in the morning. Saw some for £2.99 each which could do the job I think...
Any other top ideas?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
I need a few good draught excluders - I can see inches of daylight by my front door & a full on breeze through the balcony door :eek:Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier
