Travel Insurance recommedations

Hello,

Does anyone have a travel insurance company they can recommend from experience? Also, who to avoid?

I was with Flexicover, but I have red a few bad things about them. We ill vbe if to the States, and are looking for an Annual family policy.

Price is important, but more inmportant is that the company will pay up in the unfortunate event of a claim!!

Many thanks in advance for any info!!

    Update -

I joined Which (£1.00 for a months trial), and one of their best buys is travel-insuranceweb.

the price is reasonable, so I was wondering if anyone else has used this company?

  • I have always used www.charterflights.co.uk/travel-insurance

They offer a competitive range of policies and if you change your mind you can cancel. The cover summary is explained really well making it easy to compare to other policies.

    May be worth a look.

Hi julliff, a recommendation from "Which?" is always a good thing! :-)

I don't think there are any real stinkers to avoid, since they all have to operate by the same framework of legislation. But certainly there are some differences in response times and customer satisfaction, for different insurers.

    Best wishes!
I fancy my chances on deal or no deal! ;)

    Ratbag,
I called the Which cutomer services, and asked them how they scored their Travel Insurance Best Buys. Essentially, the companies are only reviewed for ease of taking out the inurance, and for pre-existing conditions. No scoring for ease of claiming and payout turnaround. Which is really disappointing. (No pun intended)
