Are the days of £99 last minute deals long gone now?

There are very few below £300 for whats left of july or August. Prices are rising , so there must be demand.
I booked 2 weeks ago for a week in Corfu ( i am flying this monday). The price went up by £50 each a few days after i booked.

The teletext prices bear no relation to the actual complete cost . try firstchoice.co.uk ( they give the full and complete cost pretty early in the search). mytravel is pretty good too but their late deal prices are generally higher than first choice this year.

I checked some of these sites out and the general average does seem to be £300/£400. Son is going into town tomorrow to travel agent who always advertises last minute cheap deals so if he has no better joy there, he can just opt for one of the online deals.
