Credit card fraud

in Credit cards
I have been subject to someone fraudulently using one of my credit cards to feed their on-line gaming and national lottery habits. I have reported it to my c/c company and they are looking into it. Does anyone know legally where I stand regards repayment of fraudulent transations? Is it down to me or are the c/c company obliged to refund monies pending outcome of investigations? Can't help but think I'm being made to feel guilty by my c/c company until proven innocent............
Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

You will certainly be refunded and if you have incurred charges (eg interest) then that should be refunded too.
Policy seems to vary between cards as to whether you get refunded while they investigate, usually not. I had to wait 6 weeks to get the money back, and had to remind them to remove the interest charges too.
I assume the card has been canceled, if not insist it is. That doesn't wait until they have investigated.0 -
