Hi guys looking for a bit of advice. Found out the other day that I can't make outgoing calls from my landline. Incoming calls are fine and the internet is working fine. Done a line test and it says there is nothing wrong with the line. Tried all sockets, even the main one I can't ring out of. Tried the test socket, could make calls with that. So not sure where I stand now? Don't want to call out an engineer incase they try and charge us when I think the fault is with the main socket which is thier property. Any advice grateful.
I :heart2: saving money

Hi Queen_B
Sounds like youre going to have to call 151 and report a problem. They should tell you in advance if any charges will apply.
HTH
LGworking hard at this thing called life0 -
Have you tried with a different phone? That will ensure that its not the existing phone.0

they will tell you that charges may apply. They cant say they will or wont until the problem is known. what happens when you try and call out..0

You would need to disconnect all other sockets, including internet, in the house at the main BT socket
Then try it using a cabled phone plugged into main BT socket, that way you have eliminated all sockets & wiring you own [and will have to pay to get fixed]
try that firstEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

In that case BT would charge for the visit.
Make sure you eliminate your equipment by unplugging EVERYTHING, including sky box, computer, all filters etc.then plug a known good phone in, if it works OK then start plugging things back in until one stops it working0
