Eon refund

Just had a strange letter from Eon.

They have stated that when I was a customer (2 years ago) they didn't apply the DD / dual fuel discount to my final bill and although it was their policy it wasn't clear in their T&C's. They have sent a refund as a result.

Can't imagine this is uncommon and has no doubt earned companies a lot of extra cash.

  • Wow, that is great news, always encouraging when there are so many problems with the power companies.

It was just not in their t&c's full stop! - until the end of Feb this year that is when EON issued revised t&c's. Suspect energywatch and the regulator have responded to customer complaints about this matter and put pressure on EON to pay up or face a penalty for breaching the terms of supply.

Typically they have written first, not enclosing the cheque. To see how you want the refund?
Then when you ring they say "okay we'll send a cheque"

More than likely hoping a percentage will not receive, forget to respond or lose the letter.

Hi - I got a letter this morning too saying they owed me £44 for the same reason. I've swapped power companies so many times, couldn't even remember being with e.on! But there's no way I'll forget to cash their cheque...
