Hi
I have a Philips DVD player that I watch DIVX/Avi from it's USB on a 2/4gb SD card and all is okay other than the inability of the DVD player to show long file names (i create folders for each episode - a pain in the butt but a workaround).
I would like to know if anyone is able to run a 250gsb non powered external USB on a dvd player, or if not what is the max size. In fact will non powered usb 2.5inch drives work at all.
So looking for DVD that can take a large unpowered external usb drive and show more than 3 characters of file name.
Does a unit exist.
Thanks in advance

Not sure about unpowered Drives but I have a Powered Drive in a caddy [250GB] connected to usb on my Sony dvd player/recorder. I have to power up the drive before it is accessed but it works OK -- The only thing you have to make sure of that the drive is formatted in FAT32 == Dave0
