Well, I have to say a poster has initiated a thread asking a question to which I have spent some 20 minutes or so constructing a helpful reply.

The reply was MY OPINION. Others may disagree with it or indeed, have different ones.

We are on an Internet site.

My reply was about the use of two Internet Saving Accounts, one of which recommends to its users that they change their Passwords every 30 days or so. Thus I included some helpful stuff on managing Passwords, which also by nature has to include the management of Usernames.

I get jumped on first by by 'innovate' and then again by 'isasmurf' for going 'off topic'.

Perhaps, I'd better stick to just reading other peoples' contributions and keep my fingers 'off my keyboard' as well as 'off topic' and keep my altruism to myself?

Or are these personal comments 'off topic' too?

DocProc, my off-topic was not directed at you, but the discussion that was taking place on investment advice/recommendations and whether or not the FSA allowed it.

Your posts are welcome and (hopefully) helpful to the OP.

Cahoot have recently come out with a Bonus savings account that pays 4.93% AER. This may be a better bet than fixed term investments that are typically only paying around 5% with you money tied up for at least a year with no get out clause.
