No sound from speakers

The pc is an emachines 3010, motherboard is an Intel D865GVHZ AAC93540-101. Ive got no sound from my speakers after i re installed windows, id forgotten to get a copy of the drivers, ive double checked that ive got the speakers in the right socket and theyre in the same socket which they were in yesterday when the speakers worked
i found the intel website and it listed the drivers for my pc but they didnt work

Try windows Updates and do a Custom driver search. Then look on the left hand side for hardware. Click the link and see what it has found. Normally picks up an audio driver.0

Check that the Volume Control and Wave settings haven't been muted or lowered.0

Windows Update can be found on the Start Menu or Tools (IIRC) in Internet Explorer0
