Been looking for a new laptop for a while. Would have preferred a Dell (due to previous experience) however yet to see a good offer in recent months

    Don't touch Acer with a bargepole - Google for lots of folks who've had dreadful problems and worse service

    Seems an excellent price for an excellent laptop, particularly if you add the 2yrs extended warranty.
    Make sure you copy all the necessary recovery software onto discs before you do anything else. (I did it twice just to make sure)

    You can buy a refurbished MacBook from Apple for not much more.

    I'd rather have a lower spec computer from a good manufacturer than a higher spec budget brand.

    One will still be working in 5 years, the other won't.
