My daughter is off to Canada in September to do her 2nd year of Uni as an exchange student at Calgary university. Just wandred if anyone has any advice or experience of insurance for this trip. Not sure if we need seperate travel and medical insurance or if we can get the lot in one. Any help would be much appreciated.

Afraid I have no experience of this at all! But I'd imagine her University should be able to give her all the info she needs. Or even contact the uni she's going to. Both will have had plenty of experience with exchange and foreign students and should be able to give her all the info she needs. If not, they should be able to tell her where to find it!0

The university may require her to have some sort of specific level of travel/health insurance so it would be a good idea to check with them, they might even state you have to purchase theirs. They can be quite expensive in the United States, I wouldn't be too sure about Canada though; probably less with welfare state etc but its worth checking!
I'm studying abroad in August, fortunately my uni are paying for some health/travel insurance and hopefully that means I don't need to take out my uni's one there as it is compulsory unless you can prove you have a higher level of cover!0
