Anyone have a double Maclaren buggy?

Please would you measure it's width for me?

The measurements vary on every website I look at.

I'd love the twin techno xt, but if it's over 74cm, it won't fit through my door. The twin triumph seems to be a little smaller, as it has the smaller wheels.

But for both, I am finding measurements of 71 to 78cm, & have no idea which ones are right

Thanks

Hi sorry i dont know but you could phone mothercare/john lewis and ask them if they have one in stock and ask them if they could tell you the width. Or you could go to the shop armed with a tape measure.

I have one, hubbys going to measure it for you - Twin Techno.

Bear in mind with that though, even if it is slightly bigger.. you can hook your foot up under both seat and it narrows.. even whilst the kids are in it.. :D

    This gets you through doorways!!

The Maclaren is fantastic for folding and getting into the boot.. BUT.. the shopping baskets underneath are pitifully small and it's not a very sturdy pram, uncomfortable to push!

The Phil and Teds e3 explorer (Twin) is fantastic to push but a nightmare to put in the boot, and fits through most doorways.

    UPDATE: It is 76 cms

No shops near me have either in stock, but I'd not thought of phoning. Thanks!

I don't like the Phil and Ted...the baby in a bag thing seems so wrong to me :o

Noooooooo not that Phil & Teds!!

    I looked at them!

Mine is a proper double pram, side by side seats made by Phil and Teds.

OOH, that's nice! Didn't know they did that one :T

it looks like a mountain buggy, but cheaper. .

Wow, it's heavy though. Still think I want a maclaren for ease of throwing it on a place and going on holiday (who am I kidding, with 3 kids we can't afford plane tickets :o )

Certainly is heavy when you lift it and put it in the boot.. but pushing it is a dream and you can do it one handed!! Even with another child sat on the front on the space between the wheels!

Pushing it is just so light and easy!

  • The Out n About Nipper Double seems to be highly thought of (we are buying the Single, and stumbled upon reviews for the double). It's fairly narrow (not sure of exact dimensions) and weighs only 10kg. Think it's about £299, but there are lots on ebay.

    sadly it's 77cm wide.

Why do buggy manaufacturers put rubbish quotes like 'small enough to fit through a standard doorway' instead of the sizes (Maclaren particularly)? What is a standard doorway anyway...we don't all live in new build houses! My house is Edwardian, and building regs have changed a bit since then!
