Travel Help Desperately needed
Dear all,
I need to travel to cardiff every week day for the month of august reaching cardiff before 8 but maximum 8.30 everday and reaching back to reading around 8 again coming back times are very flexible.
Can please anyone suggest the cheapest way possible to travel with trains i also have a young person's railcard. I've seen that instead of full train tickets between reading and cardiff i can take a single advance from reading to swindon and swindon to cardiff as it works out 3.30 each way coming to 6.60 plus 1 pound ticket booking fee and 50p trainline booking fee.
can anyone else come up with any other ideas am really low on cash have to pay by cc so gonna get charged 2.50£ more anyway so need desperate help from u mse's..
thanks
k

Well you can save the trainline fees for a start - use the First Great Western site - or any train company come to that. They just charge the ticket price which will be the same as trainline. No fees no CC charge
Advance singles will be your best bet - whether you need to split them at Swindon or not will depend on availability. If you can get them for the through journey do.
If you have to resort to normal tickets try splitting at Didcot, and maybe Swindon as well. Just make sure it's a train that stops at Didcot - many don't. They all (or just about) stop at Swindon0 -
A long shot but you could try putting your trip up on https://www.liftshare.org and offering some petrol money.0
