you need to make an 'insert' when you list your items. this is found in the text box where you type out your ad. you could put something like:

"i regret i cannot offer refunds due to the growing number of cases where mechanical parts are swapped, or cds/dvds are copied and sent back as 'faulty' etc."

this is the one i use. you can copy & paste it to your inserts if you like! it will save you typing it out again & again!

she's just sent me a message saying
'i dont understand why you want the cardigan sending back. am i going to get a refund?'

im not even going to waste my time now she can leave neg feedback if she wants, shes obviously after something for nothing.
thats unbelievable why would anyone receive a refund and keep the item its ebay not a charity.

So she wants to keep the cardigan and the refund?

Tell her to send it back in its original packaging (with tags) for a refund.
  • I fear this is going to become a growing problem now that ebay have changed the rules about sellers leaving negative feedback. Something similar happened to me today where a buyer is demanding a refund because they beleive the shade of the garment was not correctly described. However the photos in the listing were an accurate representation and I do not agree with her comments. It seems to me in these scenarios buyers are forced to provide full refunds or else suffer negative feedback through no fault of their own.
