Cheapest Sky + route?

Hi,

Just recently had a new sky box thanks to the complaints procedure mentioned on here when ours kept dying. However we've recently had a telephone line installed so we can now go for Sky + (they said we couldn't have one without it)

What's the cheapest route to getting a free sky plus box, I've heard if you are a member it's up to £199 to b uy one, Any suggestions?

cancel your existing sky package and then have soemone else in the house who has never had a sky account sign up for this - box for £49, free install, 3 months half price sky and free subscription if you have one of the high end packages.

of course - you can also try asking for this when you phone up to cancel - rumours of boxes going for £65 that way although they may be old stock.
