conflicting printers

i have just been given a hp psc 1210 all in one printer i all ready have a boring old one and a photosmart printer, afteri installing the all in one i cant get the scanner to work it keeps saying internal error restart or install again which i have tried but it still wont work do you think as i still have the other printers installed that it could conflict with the all in one, i asked the person who gave me the printer if she had any more software discs but she said she hadnt its cos its mentioning photo imaging in the error message

I'd start by removing every printer that you've installed, and then going to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs and removing any HP Printer-related software from there.

Then, go to the HP site and look up the make of the printer, and download any drivers and software that they have available for it there.

Start afresh with a blank canvas printer-wise, and install the all-in-one first, and check to make sure that the scanner is working, before attempting to install the other one. It might just be conflicting drivers...

thanks indiegirl i might just do that i have already been onto hp site an installed drivers etc , but i will uninstall other printers and see what happens



just an update uninstalled other printers reinstalled the all in one still the same error
