New seller to ebay..

Hoping someone could help me out with this,

I recently listed a couple of items on ebay having not sold many things before, however one of the items I said I'd ship worldwide because first time round it didn't sell, I only relisted it last night on a 10 day listing.

Just got back from work to find someone has bid on it, it smells a bit dodgy to me, they're registered for less than a day with 0 feedback and based in Italy (and I said to contact me before bidding if outside UK, which they did not).

So my question is, do other european countries use the confirmed addresses scheme on paypal? As I want to be covered if I do send it abroad.

And I'd like people's opinion's on what to do? remove their bid and block them?

Thanks,

I would say best to cancel the guys bids mate... you said to contact you first and they didn't. If they are too stupid to follow a simple instruction then its got "bad times" written all over it.

European addresses cannot be confirmed but if you are selling items up to £36 overseas you are still covered against loss in the post with a COP.

I'm not sure why you want overseas buyers to contact you before bidding, what are you going to say to them? Either accept overseas bids and list the postage costs in the postage part of the auction or limit yourself to UK only.

i agree. best thing to do is remove the bid, revise the auction, armed with your new knowledge of selling overseas!

    Thanks for the quick replies.
Couldn't work out how to get rid of the option of international shipping, so ended it and relisting with UK only then, and hope it sells this time.

Just make sure you have your seller preferences set water tight.

Just becasue they're newly registered doesn't mean they're nailed on to be a bad buyer by anymeans. About 20% of what we sell is to buyers with zero or very low feedback.

Certainly wouldn't cancel it, yet anyway. As having a bid on your item helps generates more interest and more bids.
