Never income tax. Possibly capital gains tax - but not even that if it was your "principal private residence" (ie. where you actually lived).

I have £350,000 cash, any ideas I really dont know what to do with it, its a real problem for me. Eventually I intend to spend some on a house and the rest on sherbert dips and liquorice shoe laces but for now alas I need to save it.

Yeah, bummer. What a pain having to save it. Don't spend too much on the house though. You can never have too many sherbert dips.

In the end I decided to spend the lot on pick and mix, its the best of both worlds then. So for the next 50 years I will be eating a variety of sweets every day.
