Hello all,
I hope this is the right board for this, just got off the phone to sky and thought I would get some advice before I take my next step, anyway here it goes:
We first took out sky in 2005, it was all fine until 9 months ago when we lost all the channels for 2 months, we contacted sky who apologised but it took the entire two months to get it sorted (it turned out that as well as there being a problem the engineer had not installed the cabling correctly either)
We phoned up to cancel the arrangement but were offered a new deal at a far cheaper rate as well as reciveing an apology letter from sky for the inconvienience,we were told at the time it was at the level of the new customers
5 months ago we moved to a new property, all was going fine until we recieved a bill from Bt for a quite considerable amount, as we had sky talk unlimited we should only have been paying BT the line rental
It transpires that Sky had cancelled our sky talk package as they did not have our new number (however this does not make sense as our first 3 months in the property were fine and we had already let them know) We were never notified about the cancellation
I phoned up sky who basically said it was our fault as they didnt have our new number (they tried to phob off why it was working before that) and when we told them we had both written and called them they claimed that we hadent
I then proceeded to try and cancel our sky but they informed us that we can not as we have been a customer for under a year! even though we have been with them since 2005, they have said to me that we would have to pay our contract until the end of our term
I have just looked and luckily I have some of the old letters from my previous address from them, should I write to them saying that I have been a customer for more than a year or are they right in the sense that I was put under a new package as a way of an apology?, Also is there anything I can do regarding the skytalk?

email the office of james murdoch.... it doesn't go to him directly, but someone who can actually do something will take ownership of your problems, and sort it out.
It is worth it, and it will be solved in days rather than months if you keep going through the usual call centres and usual customer service address..0 -
