Recycling 'good' jiffy bags - how to remove old address labels

Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone has found a good way to get old address labels off jiffy bags?

I've got some girls clothes to sell on Ebay, along with tons of jiffy bags that I want to recycle, (this will be reflected in my p&p as I will only charge the cost of sending), but I'm having trouble getting my address details off without making the jiffy bag damaged.

Does anyone have a good suggestion?

Thanks in advance,

Lisa

PS I have read the posts and comments on views of reusing jiffy bags, although some people don't agree with the idea I'd appreciate no negative comments about me recycling perfectly good bags. As stated above the items will be charged for 'sending' only, which for my heaviest item is only £1.94 first class (packet).

    Same here.

I see no problem with recycling any packaging that is still reusable as long as it is appropriate for the item you are sending.

I use the original address to me part as the sent from and write or stick a label on the other side with post to.
Though must admit don't get many jiffy bags anymore.

I use a hair dryer to heat the glue while gently pulling any labels off.
Just be carefulof the heat setting and your fingers.
I also use this method to open any jiffy bags or envelopes for re-use.

Why would anyone find fault with re-using jiffy bags?

Some people are absolute idiots and far TSFE, or even too stupid for life itself, and will complain about anything and everything.

Some people think they have lost out if their ebay purchase isn’t hand delivered by a uniformed retainer within ten minutes of paying.

I never buy new jiffy bags. I have a bin bag full of used bags that I recycle.

Cheers for help, good idea to use my address as the sender! I'll also give the hairdryer a go, good idea!

As for last comment on people having a prob with reusing bags I did a search before posting on here and there were some negative comments made, so I thought I'd mention my p&p charges would reflect this, just in case anyone decided to be nasty!

The jiffy bags I'll use are all fine and I'll be sending clothes, nothing breakable and to cover myself I'll state jiffy's are recycled to save money for buyer. Frankly speaking you can see where people make profit from p&p as I've searched for similar items I've got for sale and their postage is outragious! Each to their own!

Thanks again for your advice and tips!

Tell me about it! We sell around 300 items a month from our website and ebay, so we can't really rely on used packaging, but where we can we certainly do. No complaints (yet!), but yes there are some buyers who are complete clowns......and would you believe it, they're the ones that buy from us off ebay...rather than our site! Ebay seems to have pooled together the 'scum segment' of the market very well.
