It's very easy. Full details are here I'd recommend printing off the instructions so it's easier to follow. As far as I'm aware the lights are still legal to use in Britain when you've done this as basically you are turning them into flat beams. As I understand it in Briatin the lights kick up at the left to illuminate the roadise and signs so the pattern is like this.

In Europe it is the reverse so it is like this

By adjusting them they become flat beams like this

So they don't illuminate the road signs as well but don't dazzle people either.
The first time I did it, it took me about 20 mins but now I know what I'm doing it's a lot quicker.
If you'ver concerned about the law you could do at the docks whilst waiting for the ferry but I always do it at home. In fatc I shall be doing mnine on Sunday prior to going to France a week on Friday.It's my problem, it's my problem
