WRONG
that statement is always from people who have never even used a Mac or at most have tried an old g3 Mac with only enough ram to boot the thing up.its all about what people have heard from other people..
try one and see.
i was a devoted windows user who thought the same UNTIL i actually used one.BUT if you are a major games player stay with a windows pc,but in my opinion Macs are superior in most ways.
and when the new Macs are released with intel chips there will be plenty of games available.
lets not get into the old better or worse arguments though,i still use a windows pda and a Mac laptop which is the better option for me.0 -
i was not suggesting that the op should buy a Mac.
i was just referring to your comment "Macs look great but that's about all they're good for"
which is bs.
1)if your satisfied with your windows pc and think it has a better interface then thats fine and thats your opinion.
2)im not telling you to switch to a Mac,im just trying to educate people here that what you said about Macs is bs.why would you revert to being a computer novice by using a Mac?you know your way round a windows pc,whats wrong in learning another os?
3)you wouldnt have to buy Mac versions when a program called virtual pc will run almost all windows software on a Mac.0 -
256Mb of RAM is not enough if you want to multi task.jr666 wrote:256mb of ram should be quite enough for most things.
I would recommend a minimum of 512Mb of RAM; I have 512Mb in my PC, and although fine for day-to-day usage and having word-internet explorer-winamp-msn messenger etc open all at once, it can struggle with the more challenging things I throw at it, like audio editing and gameplaying so I am looking to bump it up to 1Gb when I get money.0 -
thanks for all your help guys - i ended up getting a hp - cant remember the model number - it has 526mb on and dvd and cd rw - is wireless too, and only paid £600 for it - couldve got a cheaper one online but had vouchers i could only use at comet plus a student grant....all in all i only put £200 towards....0
