Nativity Play (merged threads)

Hi Becky,
I have merged your thread into the recent thread about nativity costumes.
When my youngest was cast as a king in a nativity play I bought two bright yellow pillowcases in a pack from Primark (think they cost two pounds for both). I used one, with holes cut for the head and arms as the main costume and pinned the other one to look like a cloak. We used a potato and some old paints to decorate them with potato prints. I begged a crown from burger king and decorated it too. He looked lovely and was really pleased with his costume.

Don't forget the grey school socks and plimsolls - children in school nativity plays always wear these regardless of which part they are playing!0

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but am looking for last minute tips to create a "Citizen of Bethlehem" costume for my son's nativity - he hasn't landed a main part! Dress rehersal tomorrow!
I was thinking a pillow case with appropriate holes and tied belt. A bit like a shepherds costume.
All ideas welcome...0
