Hi all you helpful bods. I must have hit a wrong button yesterday and my emails are all scrambled up instead of in date order so when I get a new email I have to trawl all the way through to find it instead of it appearing at the bottom. Actually they're not really scrambled up but have been sorted into categories where for eg all the emails from one company are together. At work last week I pressed a button and managed to lose a whole day's emails! Can anyone help me how to resolve both these problems. many thanks

Well you haven't said what email client you are using but usually at the top of the list are headings like date, sender, subject etc. Just click on date and it wil lsort them in date order, if it does them with the oldest at the top and you want the newest there just click it again.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Click the date tab above the emails. It will sort them into date order. You may have to click it a few times to get the newer ones at the top

thanks I clicked the 'received' tab at the top and they're all back in date order. I never noticed that button till now and we've had the computer for about 4 years so I think I must have clicked on it before my accident. thanks very much. Any ideas how I might have managed to delete an entire day's emails at work which is on a different computer. thanks

Again what email client do you use at work? Is it Outlook? If it is make sure you haven't clicked on the little minus sign next to the relevant date, if you have it will have hidden them all and it will now be a plus. Click on that to show them again.

Thanks I think it's outlook at work and I've previously accidentally clicked the minus button and had it pointed out to me how to rectify it. I tried clicking it again on Firday but they still didn't appear. I'll ask one of the IT bods at work when I return tomorrow (they're used to me!) thanks again
