DAB radio auto tuning

got a new sony DAB radio, seems to work ok except it doesnt seem to find certain channels. it doesnt pick up radio 1 - 5 , or 6music. however it does pick up strange ones like birdsong. can you manually tune a DAB radio at all or do you just get what it finds???

These radios tend to auto scan when you switch them on although some do have a manual scan function - check out the sony.co.uk site for the manual for yours if you haven't got one.
Groups of stations come from different transponders/transmitters so you might have to position your radio in a different spot and retune to get all available channels.
