hello. ive got a damaged back light, nothing major but there is about a 1cm x 1cm hole in it. ive read about some sort of tape that you can apply to small damage such as this to repair. but i cant find any! wondered if someone could help either with that route of repair or any other ideas?
thanks in advance

Is it red?
Just use any transparent red film, but if you want to know where to get some from, you could go to a Radio Control model store and buy something called
Iron on, heat shrink film - transparent of course, brandname solarfilm

But that might be too expensive to buy just for that purpose, so if you know someone who does RC modelling...
Or think of any other red film, I just thought of red acetate for photocopying and overhead projectors... it's cheap too

Or sometimes a box of chocolates or whatever might have a bit of red film in the lid.
Until you find some red film, just cover it with a bit of red electrical insulation tape, or black or anything that will stop the white light coming out through the hole.0 -
I have seen the bodge tapes specially for light lenses in some pound shops.
Here's some cheaper on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3202256001660 -
Just get a new lens, unless you enjoy dealing with rusting lamp contacts and water ingress.0
