                    Dear All
I want to fly to South India in Dec (on or around 10th Dec) and return in January (before 4th Jan).
I want to go to Chennai or Kerala
I looked in Opodo and it does look quite expensive (around the £500 mark)
Are there any chartered flights to South india please? Has anyone had any advise please?

Goa would be the nearest airport with charter flights and as you are not going for a standard 7 or 14 night stay, I suspect the fare wouldn't be much cheaper. Regretably £500 is no longer 'expensive' for travel at Christmas. Just checked with 'airnet' and they have a few seats on Qatar Airways at £462 but once they are gone, everything else is well over £700 for flights to Chennai. Its a case of deciding whether you want to pay or not.0

Check out flights to Hyderabad and Bangalore as well.
When Lufthansa started flying into Hyderabad they offered some very low fares while the business built up: see if they are still obliging. And do check on Kayak as well as Opodo.0

thank you for your replies. I am going to look at both sites and see.
the thing is Xmas time is the only period I can take 3 weeks off as we close the office for Xmas.
It is the case of pay extra and go for three weeks or go for 2 weeks for slightly cheaper price!0

I've been looking for southern india too in those dates, except from ireland. Cheapest I can get is goa for 820euro/ 650gbp. I paid about half that in jan of this year flying from heathrow. The prices have seriously gone up for most flights. I need my winter sun. Thailand is a bit more expensive. They're both very affordable once I get there though. I'm going to hold out a bit longer. Oil has dropped 15USD in two weeks and that apparently is pushing up flight tickets.
Monarch are one company that do package to the south. Fly from Mancs and gatwick.0
