A friend has just passed on a wireless router that they no longer need. Unfortunately they no longer have the CD with the software that came with it.

Do I need the specific CD for this particular router, or would the software for any router be likely to do the job? And can anyone suggest how I could obtain a CD or download the required software?

The router is a Thomson SppedTouch 580. I have found some glowing reviews of it on-line, so it would be a pity to throw it away.

You do not need any drivers for a router which connects to your computer using the network port (which they usually do). To configure it simply enter 192.168.1.1 in your web browser after you've plugged it in, and enter password and username admin.
