Nightmare with Buyer. 5 weeks no survey

I am having a nightmare.:mad:

5 weeks ago we received formal notification of sale, that we had sold our house to a FTB. It is 5 weeks later and still no survey.

I have been told what may be confilcting information. Apparently 4 weeks ago he paid for his survey, but only 1 week the mortgage broker send off the paperwork.

Why would you pay for the survey before the mortgage broker sent the paperwork off. I am being told porky pies?

Advice welcomed.

    Or maybe they are just struggling to get a mortgage.

    Either way when the valueation comes back the sale will probably fall through.

  • Why would the valuation make the sale fall through. It's a good price.

    Apparently he has paid for the searches as well.

    If it falls though, the chain falls apart.

    It's alot of stress.

    So everything on rightmove is overpriced then... wouldn't be unusual.

    If you place was such a bargain, in the 5 weeks, your buyer would have been gazumped.

    It's not a matter of winning or losing.

    I'm simply stating facts.

    !!!!!! turn on a TV or read a paper once in a while.

    The whole country is going to hell in a hand basket.

    And it's not a particularly well made hand basket either.

  • But going back to my original point, can you pay for a survey before the mortgage paperwork was sent off?

    Dredging the back of my memory, I *think* I paid for my survey and arrangement fees when the mortgage was originally agreed in principle - the mortgage company then sent through the forms for me to sign and add in various paperwork - payslips etc, so I guess he could have paid and then been faffing around hunting down payslips, passports and whatever else they need.
