how can I check my credit rating and get it changed if the details are wrong or do not relate to me?

Also if you find a discrepancy, be determined to get it sorted out. It took me months and several contacts for Experian to change my former house number from 18 to 8, but I got there in the end0 -
If you're in the UK, you can visit your local Citizen's Advice Bureau and ask them to order your credit report for you. This means that you won't need to pay even the £2 chargeTarget debt - Loan left over from previous relationship - c. £3700
