Are we paying too much?
We're on E.ON Price Protection October 2009, and we signed up before the huge price rises. There was some technical problem when we signed up which meant that they didn't put us on the new tariff immediately. We only noticed this problem after the price rises, so we called up, and they promised us that, because it was their mistake, they would put us on the Price Protection with the tariff as it was when we requested it (pre 45% price hike), but I don't really trust them.
This is what we're paying according to the website:
Electricity
Night units
4.998 pence per kWh
Day units up to 900 kWhs
19.047 pence
Day units
12.6315 pence per kWh
Gas
Normal units up to 4572 kWhs
3.81255 pence
Normal units
2.57355 pence per kWh
Do these rates look reasonable or should we be able to get cheaper? It's got us down as Economy 7, even though I don't think we have an Economy 7 meter. Is this likely to be costing us too much?
