Paypal advice?

I bought some used motorbike gloves on ebay but they weren't as described. and it ended up with a paypal dispute  Eventually paypal told me to send the gloves back and get a tracking number. So I did,. I sent it 1st class recorded.;)
Now they say that the number is invalid and they cannot confirm receipt:eek: and I have to talk to the seller---again!!.We did that bit first.
The advice I need is how to get in touch with paypal ie which department? and find out what's wrong with the delivery number, because I now have no refund and no gloves and if the seller wasn't interested before they certainly wont be now.:o
Anyone??

Has the seller not received the gloves then? If they haven't then I am not sure you can do anything?

Is it the RM website telling you the tracking number is invalid?

It was paypal who emailed me today and said the info was invalid.,and that the case was now closed and to contact the seller.
I have emailed the seller to see if the gloves arrived but realistically I think I'm wasting my time ;)
I want more details about my tracking number but paypal seem to have dismissed the case out of hand.
This is the message--- The tracking information you provided was invalid, and we were unable to
confirm delivery of the item associated with this claim. As a result, the
case is now considered closed and we are unable to process a refund.

We encourage you to work directly with the seller to find a resolution.

Have you have tried the tracking information yourself with the Royal Mail track and trace website? HERE

I just did that and guess what? The package was delivered and signed for ---so why have paypal dumped the case:confused: I just don't understand it. I still need to contact them for an explanation--even more so now.

Paypal have been a bit glitchy at the moment. Phone them today (don't email) and be persistent..explain that the tracking number you gave them is valid and shows as delivered and insist they refund you as per their terms and conditions.

Be polite but be very persistent.(oh and check that you typed the tracking number into paypal correctly!)

Thanks--I have wondered about the number as I've been known to suffer from finger trouble . I still think they should have queried it with me before putting it in the bin.
Why would I go to the trouble of giving a false number???
Will call them today but at this rate I may as well cut my losses and buy some new gloves. It will be cheaper in the long run.;)
