Buying a tent - weekend camping 4 person

Hello!
Anyone got any good reviews, advice on buying a "weekend" tent, places to find tent reviews. We have Vango Diablo 900 for main camping hols - bought end of season a few years ago - too good a bargain to miss. Have since realised that whilst great for a 2 week hol it takes far too long to pitch for a shorter break and so we've not camped this year
. Looking to buy a four man tent, tunnel is preference with sewn in groundsheet, with small living area/porch, again preference would be two rooms but for 1/2 nights one room would be ok. Don't really want to spend over £100 - am i asking too much. Worried if too cheap it wont be waterproof or last til next year! Have looked at a Vango Tamor and a Gelert stratus tunnel - like the look of the outwell ones but prob too expensive. let me know what you think. Also wondering whether to wait to end of season now as may only get 1/2 weekends away before main summer hol would i get a better deal?
thanks all:D

I just bought a Vango Venture 500, which is really quite similar to the Vango Tamor. It had its first outing the weekend before last (yes with the rain and the gales) and it stood up well, its really quite big (5 man), has the required two rooms and all 5'11 of me could happily stand up in it. It took two of us about 15 mins to put it up although it ios flysheet first - don't be daunted tho its a doddle. (I have a Wynnster tent that I have never even taken out of the box as I am scared of putting it up!
the biggest bonus is the fact that they are CHEAP. A few weeks ago Go outdoors were doing them for £59. I think its because they are being replaced with the virtually identical Tamor and the blue colour scheme isn't the vouge anymore! There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0 -
thanks all - will check out the websites and the vango. Itching to get a few weekends in before the french hol in Aug.0

We're in exactly the same position as you, already got a Vango Diablo but want a quick erect  jobby for the quick weekend away.
We went for this http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/product/index.jsp?pid=50973759
got it for £69 (its between £100 -£150 elsewhere although a couple of places do it for £93.99) with a relatives staff discount and is excellent, put it up at the weekend and it takes about 4 minutes... absolutely amazing, it about 10mins to put away but makes jumping in the car for a quick overnight stay somewhere an achievable possibility.
There's lot of good ideas in above posts but for speed & convenience.... this is your baby0 -
Vango Ventures are excellent. We've got a Venture 600 (which I don't think they make now). It's just right for a weekend, I'd definately look at the Venture 500. Also have a look in Milletts as they sold them under a different name and soemtimes have decent offers. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
HI
We recently bought the vango tamor and have used it once so far. It was great, probably just what you are looking for. Porch area is a decent size to sit in if (or when)! it rains. It rained non stop when we were there and was fully waterproof! Also, I like the fact you cvan walk into it rether than crawl and can stand up inside! ( only ever had little tents before!) I'd recommend!0
