just got off the phone to them. It took me a while to understand the explanation but I think I got there in the end.
Basically they estimated my salary for april 07 to april 08 to be twice as high as it actually was. So as a result they never gave me any workin tax credits for the whole year. They have now paid it all back to me in one lump sum. He confirmed its right and that I'll receive a letter from them confirming it.
Im so pleased as I always believed I didnt have enough money, now I know I was right.
