  • You could risk it - BUT, you would face loosing your tenancy if they found out. Is there no one the dog could stay with until you get somewhere that will take a dog?

  • What I would do in your circumstances is if you like the property that much offer a further deposit of £100 and reassure the landlord/agent that your pet/s are not likely to cause any damage but you will ensure that any damage made will be made fit when you move out.

A lot of landlords are happy with this arrangement but just don't advertise it! I live in rented accomodation with a dog, 3 cats, 2 rabbits, 1 hamster and 2 fish tanks! LMAO! I spoke to my neighbour at the weekend and mentioned that I dreamed of getting a 2nd dog, their response was they'd probably prefer that over Sky being installed!!!!! They didn't have TV's in the house when they lived here! :-O But they have recently agreed to Sky as the reception here is terrible!

Anyway, off on a tandem with that! Be honest and offer a deposit and you won't be caught out!

Don't know if this helps but my daugter was after a house but they refused cause she had a dog(a staffie too)so 6 mths later they ask i she is still interested. It appears they did the house up and wanted to sell but because of the house market they decided to rent and allow the dog. Me personally would speak to LL and explain everything, dog,bc ect. There is no way you want to be looking over your shoulder every 2 mins. Have you not spent enough time on tenderhooks as it is without doing it again on your new journey. Start as you mean to go on.D

yes i will do i will try and get LL details , i jst hope the agent isnt funny, i kno the LL go thru a agency for a reason but if im thinkin of commitin to this house for a good while ( approx 4 yrs to save for a deposit to start again) i would want his phone number and not the agents !!
as for offering more deposit and reassurance in replacing things ( tho my dog is 3yrs old and never done a thing wrong) :) brilliant trainer... lol and bread of course ;) i would rather speak to LL direct with regard to this than the agent.

also the house has been empty for a good while. thats why its reduced :)

I agree - it's best to be honest about it. You don't want neighbours grassing you up if you have a falling out or just don't get on. You might be pleasantly surprised. We are looking to rent and have a chocolate lab and a ginger cat and more than half the properties we have looked at have said they will accept pets. Some have required a higher deposit, but even those who say 'no pets' on the details have changed their minds once we have asked outright. Good luck and I hope this place works out for you.
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T
  • could be worse...........you could have kids!!!

No chance renting where i am if you have kids:rolleyes:

Thing i dont get is we live in whats classed as a nice area (apparently:confused: ) with a lot of 4-5 bedroom homes to let, but no kids or pets allowed:confused:

I dont get it myself, why does a single or childless couple want a 4-5 bedroom house:confused:

Sorry thats of no use to you DEBT_23, just bugs the hell out of me:rolleyes:
